Intimacy is the follow on release from Bloc Party’s “A weekend in the city”, so far I’m undecided if its as great as Silent Alarm and Weekend in the city - its still good but just seems to be lacking the enthusiasm of the first two albums.

There are two things on the menu: A quarter pounder and a double quarter pounder. The stores were opened with some attempted fanfare, a fake secret service type security guard and “Top Secret” signs.
Treasure Fingers just finished his tour of Australia and I can’t get enough of his stuff right now. With over 10 years of international DJ’ing experience killing dancefloors from Russia to Australia and everywhere in between, Ashley Jones aka. Treasure Fingers is no stranger to rocking parties. A well-versed producer and an accomplished musician, Treasure Fingers has his lustrous hand in multiple genres. He is also part of the drum and bass trio, EVOL INTENT, who are widely considered the #1 US producers in their respective genre.

I can’t get enough of Melbourne’s Miami Horror lately. They are are releasing their debut EP “Bravado” really soon but for now they’ve just dropped their very 80’s music video for “Don’t Be On With Her”.

The Hours are a 7 piece band out of Sheffield, England and on their own are honestly quite undeservedly pretentious with their “our music is going to change the world” kind of attitude - given their generally lackluster music but one track reworked by Calvin Harris caught my attention. I’m not a huge fan of Calvin Harris’ solo production but his remixes are always fun, and he has managed to rework this song to stray it away from the dreary original.

Theatre of Disco are the latest electro-pop outfit to come out of Australia and their self titled debut EP sounds very promising. My favourite track at the moment is The Twelves mix of “YOA”. They have a packed schedule for the approaching summer season of festivals so make sure you keep an ear out for them.

I can’t get enough of Switch, anything he touches is golden, and with Eric Prydz remixing it can only get better. It reminds me a lot of the fresh beats that were coming out in late 2006 / early 2007 and is a refreshing change from whats become a very stale and overworked electro house scene.

If an mtvU (the college division of American MTV) press release is to be believed it seems Santogold – 2008’s ‘so hot right now’ queen of indie and forthcoming visitor to Australian shores – has been forced to change her name. Issuing details of performers for their upcoming Woodies Awards ceremony, mtvU let slip “Santi (formerly known as Santogold)” would make an appearance on stage.

Currently on the promo trail for their new live DVD/album A Cross The Universe, French electro fiends Justice have made a rather frank – and quite possibly costly – admission in an interview with MTV… They didn’t clear all the samples included on their 2007 debut album †!
